Empire State CoverWelcome to Dwayne Johnson’s 100th movie of the year (I’m not really sure about the number but who’s counting?). He plays a cop who tries to stop a couple of morons (that would be the dreadful Liam Hemsworth and Michael Angarano) from robbing an armored car company. That’s it for plot in this truly awful movie. Suffice to say that director Dito Montiel, whose movies range from decent (“Fighting”) to disastrous (“The Son of no One”), has not flair for suspense or storytelling. How could he, with a script by Adam Mazer, based on a true story, that packs all the silliness of a straight-to-video write-off. It baffles me that Hollywood thinks we’re stupid enough to swallow this atrocity. Don’t tell us we didn’t warn you.

Fiasco!
