Transformers: The Last Knight [2017] ★

“What the fuck is happening?” I kept asking myself as I suffered through this mind-numbingly bad 4th sequel to 2007’s “Transformers”. I can’t remember the last time I felt the need to walk out of a movie, but for the sake of a genuine review, I stayed until the bitter end. The first movie, formulaic as though it may be, was a fun ride. My problem is with the sequels and their incoherent plot. But nothing could have prepared me for the worst chapter yet: a loud, dull, violent assault on the senses that ranks among the worst films of all time. That’s right. Director Michael Bay outdid himself here by delivering his worst piece of work yet. There’s a plot hidden somewhere underneath this pile of junk, but I can’t find it. All I know is that Optimus Prime is gone and there’s a new threat. So it’s up to Mark Wahlberg (who sleepwalks through the whole thing) to step forward in order to save the world again, with the help of newcomer Laura Haddock and Anthony Hopkins, who seems confused to what he’s doing here. And I don’t blame him. This long, stupid, incoherent mess is beyond redemption. When Hasbro invented the Transformers toys, the intention was for kids to have a good time. See “The Last Knight” and you’ll know exactly what the opposite of a good time feels like. Enough of this crap. Enough.

  1. Couldn’t agree more watched like a month ago it was released in South Africa, extremely boring, the transformers looked like sidekicks to the invincible and having Anthony Hopkins in my opinion backfired.
