“When love and duty are one, grace is within you.”
Set in 1920 London, this engaging drama tells the story of a bacteriologist who learns that his wife is having an affair. As a punishment, he forces her to accompany him to China, where an outbreak of cholera has occured. This experience eventually brings them closer to each other as they reanalyse their relationship . Beautifully shot in China, this extremely well made movie will deeply move you; the acting is first rate, especially Naomi Watts in one of the best performances of her career. I bet that poster would look good on my wall!
Fun fact: “Edward Norton personally recruited Naomi Watts for her role in the film.”
