The Twenty-First Century

Alice In Wonderland [2010]

I wonder if Tim Burton has lost his mind. His version of “Alice In Wonderland” is a fine example of that.  Wonderland is no longer a beautiful place here, instead it looks more like a nightmare that refuses to end. What a shame. All those wonderful characters from the original story are present, but they all looked bored, especially Johny Depp as the mad hatter. Helena Bonham Carter tries to keep us awake, but it’s not enough. I expected another memorable Burton movie, I came out with a bad taste in my mouth; not a good sign.
