Ok, who’s kidding who? This tense, entertaining action thriller starring Keanu Reeves as a killer seeking revenge against the people who stole his 1969 Mustang and killed his puppy, isn’t new at all. You’ve seen it so many times before. Accept that and you’ll have a fine time at the movies. Reeves could play this routine stuff in his sleep, but he gives it something extra here. That’s a comeback, baby. And what’s better than a solid supporting cast, lead by Willem Dafoe, John Leguizamo and Ian McShane? I bet you’re hooked already. The material shows its age in the final act, but Reeves and his directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski (Keanu’s former stuntman), know exactly how to keep the action running. For fans of the genre, that’s mission accomplished.
