Nosferatu: A Symphony of Terror [1922]

“Is this your wife? What a lovely throat”.

It’s hard not to appreciate this classic horror movie. It might look a bit dated now (it was filmed some 90 years ago), but it’s still a wonderful movie. Max Shreck’s performance as  Count Orlok gave me goosebumps. Maybe it was the look in his eyes; I’ll never know. Film buffs might argue which version of “Nosferatu” is the best. I’ll go with this one. It’s one of the most chilling movies I’ve ever seen.

Fun fact: “Director F.W. Murnau found Max Schreck “strikingly ugly” in real life and decided the vampire makeup would suffice with just pointy ears and false teeth”.

    Fun Fact: although “What a lovely throat” is what was written in the movie it is said that the actor who played Nosferato actualy said ““Is this your wife? What lovely breasts” as a joke (to give the lip readers a thrill):P hehe
    if u like Nosferato you should watch “Shadow of the Vampire” a recreation of Mernau ‘s Nosferatu.. a weird movie though..

      haha i didnt know that! I should watch it again and try to focus on his lips :p thx for the info. And yes i have seen shadow of the vampire and its one of my favorite movies aswell! I loved Willem Dafoe’s performance as Max Shrek. Totally brilliant movie. Have u seef the 1979 version of nosferatu? I dnt find it as chilling as the original 1.

    no i havnt, my fav. Film Noir is defintly Citizen Kane i loooooove Orson Wells 😀 Third Man is pretty good too!

    I have a reproduction of the citizen kane snow globe :p i love that movie and Orson welles. Check out some of his great movies: lady from shanghai, touch of evil and the trial. He’s one of the best!
