Set in 1998 (or a long long time ago), a group of Star Wars fans decide to break into Georges Lucas’s ranch and steal an early copy of “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” so their sick friend can see it before he dies. Filled with pop culture references, “Fanboys” never tries to be anything more than just a silly farce, and that’s what I liked about it. It’s a movie aimed striclty for Star Wars fans, and we couldn’t ask for more. Even Georges Lucas was given an advanced screening of the film, and he enjoyed it! What’s more, he offered the original Star Wars sound effects for use in this movie! Not bad at all Mr. Lucas. Check out a very funny Seth Rogen playing a pimp and a Star Trek freak (he’s almost unrecognizable). To Skywalker’s ranch we will go!
Fun fact: “An early promotional poster of this movie said “Coming To Our Galaxy in 2007″. It was never released that year”.
