The original “Karate Kid” is one of my all time favorite movies. And when I first heard about the remake, I had my doubts. I mean Jackie Chan as Mr. Miyagi? Really? Boy was I wrong; the “new” Karate Kid is actually very well done and a lot of fun to watch. I don’t think it’s the kind of remake that ruins the image of the original. On the contrary, it pays tribute to it and succeeds in doing so. Fans of the original will enjoy spotting the similarites between the two movies (that was an extra fun for me).
Jaden Smith and Chan prove to be worthy of taking over the Karate Kid franchise. I hear a sequel is already planned, count me in

    I enjoyed this movie alot when it came out, and as a viewer whom is easy to please, I would’ve easily given this movie a 3.5 … Until I saw the cast names and credits, where Justin bieber was singing in the background. Immediately agreed with your 3 after that.
