Mark Walhberg can make any movie worth seeing, even mediocre ones like “Spenser Confidential”. Think of every buddy cop movie you’ve seen, add to it Walhberg’s energetic persona and you get Netflix’s latest action/comedy. It’s not bad, but you’ve seen it all before, and better. Walhberg plays an ex-cop who served time for beating up his dirty captain (he had it coming). Once released, our man teams up with his roommate (Winston Duke, wasted) to investigate the murder of two cops, one of them being…wait for it…his former captain. In true “Bad Boys”/ “Lethal Weapon” fashion, one clue leads to the next, with a dose of action and cheesy one liners in between. If this is your cup of tea, then you might find “Spenser Confidential” entertaining enough. I didn’t mind it at first, but the whole thing eventually feels recycled and downright predictable.
