I’m always on the lookout for the next Netflix comedy. Will it be worse than its predecessor? In the case of “Love Wedding Repeat”, the answer is yes. This is a disastrous film that has no redeeming qualities, except the fact that it was shot in Italy. If beautiful sceneries were enough, then this movie would probably score a passing grade. Unfortunately, everything else, from the time-worn premise to the recycled jokes, is a complete waste of time. In true wedding disaster fashion, “Love Wedding Repeat” follows Jack (Sam Claflin, wasted), whose sister is about to get married. Smooth ride? Not when her crazy ex shows up and threatens to ruin everything. Usually, this premise would be a setup for hit-or-miss gags. Here, it’s mostly a missed opportunity. Almost nothing works, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be begging for it to end. A mainstream Netflix comedy with a good-looking cast shouldn’t be more than a time-filler, but this film truly fails to deliver the bare minimum. Do not waste your time and energy on it.
