What do you get when you bring in Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch and Tina Fey to Netflix? A misfire, apparently. I’ve tried to make my peace with the fact that many talented comedians have jumped on Netflix bandwagon, but it isn’t easy, especially when they keep releasing terrible films like “Wine Country”. On the surface, it sounds like a fun premise: A group of longtime girlfriends go on a trip together to celebrate their friend’s 50th birthday. What follows is a series of catastrophic events (literally) that give modern comedies a bad name. I don’t know what everyone involved was trying to accomplish here, but the laugh ratio was pitifully low. I’ve seen worse films of course, but I like all Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph and I hate to see them waste their time on mediocre stuff. Enough said.
