Incarnate [2016] ★½

incarnate-poster-newAaron Eckhart plays a man haunted by his past. Is he haunted by how much his career has fallen since starring in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight”? Na, nothing that interesting. He’s playing a scientist with the ability to heal possessed people by entering their subconscious mind. His latest subject? A young boy (David Mazouz from the TV series “Gotham”) possessed by a very powerful demon. Despite an intriguing first half hour, this routine horror thriller quickly degenerates into a series of tired cliches. The paper thin script by Ronnie Christensen gets no help from director Brad Peyton. Not surprising really, since it’s obvious that the movie has been sitting on the shelf for quite some time. Now that it’s finally released, all you can do is ignore it until it disappears. It’s not worth your time or money.
